DUI / Traffic Violations

Experienced, Committed DUI and Traffic Violations Lawyer

South Carolina is the only state in the country that requires mandatory videotaping by the arresting officer in a DUI traffic stop. This video tape provides solid evidence regarding the reason for the stop, how the officers behaved, if proper field sobriety tests were administered, and the conduct of the individual under arrest. This evidence can strengthen—or weaken—the case against you.

In a drink driving arrest, a number of legal and factual issues come into play, such as implied consent to sobriety testing, the reliability of field sobriety tests and Breathalyzers, the effects of the driver’s diabetes or neurological damage, and whether it is your first offense, second offense, or multiple offense.

Criminal defense attorney Christopher Wellborn has 15 years experience handling DUI and traffic violations cases in Rock Hill, South Carolina. A former prosecutor, he understands all of the issues involved in charges involving driving while intoxicated or impaired, and he will protect your rights. Contact us for a free initial consultation.

Driver’s License Revocation after DUI
Your driver’s license may automatically be suspended or revoked if you are convicted of drunk driving. In order to reapply for a license after the state has suspended or revoked your license, you must enroll in an Alcohol Dependency and Substance Abuse Program (ADSAP). Once accepted, you are entitled to a provisional license for six months, which allows you to travel to designated places, such as work or school. After your six-month license suspension has expired, you must pay a $100 reinstatement fee and purchase SR-22 insurance for the next three  years. This program is only available to first time offenders.
